Authentic and campy cowboy chic is the theme of 2022

CMAT, Orville, Honey Harper on the way

Also find it very interesting that CMAT and Orville are both not American

I was having very similar thoughts during my listen to Bronco just now. Those three feel like they’re at the forefront of a new big movement in country, and are reminding my why it’s one of my favorite genres.

"Nashville" hits even harder after I read more about her inspiration for the song.

Interviewer: You've got a song called ‘Nashville’ - have you ever actually been to Nashville?

CMAT: It's about suicide. But the refrain is about how I'm going to tell everybody I know that I'm moving to Nashville, but I've never been to Nashville, and that's kind of the whole point of the song. It's kind of being upfront about the fact that I really want to go to Nashville, but I haven't been yet and maybe I'll never get to go. Maybe that's a dream that will never be fulfilled, because sometimes life is a disappointment.

Interviewer: What did you grow up listening to?

breezed on past that one, eh interviewer person?

I really love how this balances like, dream pop/indie with americana, it keeps the jangle from being too predictable and milquetoast

That said, this balance feels off on the three track stretch from Groundhog Day to to Every Bottle. Going to spend more time with these tracks (I’ve listened to the album like 3 or 4 times today lol) but i prefer the rest of the material because it has a bit more of the country music presence to even things out, keeping it from sounding like any other energetic indie band

ok those tracks have grown on me a bit more (communion is probably my only true skip) but the album overall has grown off me a bit. a good number of highlights but i don't feel that it works that well as a full album front to back. keeping it at 4 though 'cause it's still reallll good

Riding on the chuck- wagon

Following my man

His name is Ted

Can you believe that? (Ted- oh Ted- Fighting off danger)

Camping on the prairie

Plays havoc with my hair

Makes me feel quite dirty

Don't we all do sometimes? (Ted gets so dirty)
