slightly off topic but i just had a coworker try to recruit me for an amway MLM. he said it wasnt a pyramid scheme and it was an "e-commerce opportunity". he also tried to make me read this book called the go giver, i skimmed a pdf and its one of those super sanitized and idealistic stories about salesmen who struggle until they start becoming super charitable and basically doing shit for free until they magically become multi millionares who retire by age 30. those people can also get fucked.

its too bad cause the guy met up with me under the guise of just catching up and talking life, he was a pretty savvy talker too. but he promised similar ideals of being an "entrepreneur" and "becoming the next elon musk". he refused to name the company he worked for at first saying "we'll reveal more about ourselves once we deem you to be a good fit" but i kept pestering him and eventually he cracked and said it was amway. at that point i mentally checked out as i had a few other friends from amway try to pitch me the same thing. amway is pretty big in the midwest so hes probably the third or fourth person i know whose tried to pitch me shit he was just the clever-ist. looked it up later and sure enough they try to pitch people with this go giver book and sanitized promises of retiring by 35 by working just 10 hours a week. complete horse shit. guy wants to meet with me again tonight, im making him drive super far to "meet up" but im not going to be there, instead im going to be here posting comments on sputnikmusic about what a loser this guy is.
