"Did we hear the same song or am I mixing up the Foo Fighters"
those arpeggios are literally the Pretender and if it's unintentional that just makes it more embarrassing

Great, now The Pretender is stuck in my head when I listen to the end of The Gnashing

The Pretender is a great song. Well written. Not an inconsequential crescendo.

Admittedly though, The Gnashing is by far the weakest song on here for me

foo fighters nods are exactly the type of thing i would hope to hear on a deafheaven record tbh, since the only valid reason to listen to this band's music is to make fun of it imo

"Admittedly though, The Gnashing is by far the weakest song on here for me" well I loved the ending Johnny hates, we agreed even so. I need another spin to see if the track as whole is that bad.
this is also much better than Corrupt, right? come one bros, a little love and agreeance
|
| |
Haven't heard Corrupt in a long time cause I did not like it. Need to revisit it. But I can't see it climbing past this.

Agreed, but this will get shit on far more than OCHL

Of course. It's Deafheaven.

“this will get shit on far more than OCHL”
I mean, yeah, I knew this album was gonna get pooped on but it still blows my mind at how or why. It’s a damn spectacular album. And yes, way better than OCHL. I like that album, but it’s a little awkward and wonky at times. Yeah, more diverse than this album, but at least this album is more focused and is much more coherent.

"foo fighters nods are exactly the type of thing i would hope to hear on a deafheaven record tbh, since the only valid reason to listen to this band's music is to make fun of it imo"
accurate. tbh closer on New Bermuda was their everlong so it's about time they had a pretender
also imma make fun of this record up to a point but can we all appreciate how massive of a step up from OCHL it is and rip into that one instead at some stage hmm

Johhny and saying deafheaven are foo fighters influenced
