God this rules so hard. Haven't listened to it in a pretty long time.

Dol Guldur is still my favorite, but this and Stronghold aren't too far behind it.
|
| |
Yeah but you don't like Oath Bound right?
|
| |
Oath Bound is the best.
|
| |
Yeah i like Nightshade Forests and Oath Bound the most.

It's not that I don't like Oath Bound, I think it's good, just nowhere near as good as the others I mentioned.
|
| |
Honestly this is probably my least favorite other than Lugburz.
|
| |
Oath Bound is more nuanced and less straightforward than their other albums, which is why I think most people don't like it as much.
|
| |
Oath Bound has some of the best melodies they've ever come up with. And the atmosphere is just so, unique really. I love it.

Even though I don't like it as much as some of their others, Land of the Dead could very well be the best song they've ever made.
|
| |
Agreed. I think there's a lot of subtlety in the way the melodies are layered and stuff.

Mortal Heroes seems to get forgotten a lot too and it's a pretty swell record.
|
| |
Very true.

Annnnnnd my fucking iPod fucks up right in the middle of listening to this. That's just great.

GET A STEREO BRO.

I'd rather have that than an iPod. These things fucking blow.

Yeah as i browse over all their stuff now i forgot how awesome their progression has been. I mean they've obviously had the same style since Dol Guldur, but each record changes something up and adds a new element.
Like Nightshade Forests used the guitar as sort of a droning, hazy backdrop instead of a source of melody while Mortal Heroes was much more focused on the guitar work, so on and so fourth.
Bottom line, band is good. /rant
