I uh...don't actually hate this. I feel like if I keep in mind that Adam Levine, like all pop stars, isn't a real person, but rather an image, and his music isn't really art but a pure commodity, then this album is both effective and pleasant. 2.5, good background music for my local dying mall.

But man, how much can we actually make the distinction between commodity and art? Commodified art is still art, it's just bad art. Maybe this album approaches the point where it can actually be viewed solely as a commodity, with no regard for any artistic value.
