At Sea is also pretty cool, but more of an interlude

I hated Lonesome Dreams, should I try this?

Maybe I should revisit LD first.

Listened to this on a warm summer evening and it didn't hit quite as hard as I thought it would. Maybe my expectations were too high? Definitely a lovely album, though.

I've never heard someone say they hate Lonesome Dreams. Some found it average but it's just weird to see someone actively dislike it lol. Nothing wrong with that, your taste is your taste, just the first time I've seen it.

This is a little more country and a little more retro, but it's not a wild departure or anything.

@Tuna entirely possible that someone who shall remain nameless set expectations impossibly high with a 5/5 review.

Yeah hate is a to big of a word. I do remember not liking it tho. Need to revisit the debut and try this one out.

On paper this should be right up my alley but maybe my expectations were way too high.

If you're intrigued enough to waver on the idea of listening to this, and you have ample time to, I would. I don't think there's a pressing need to revisit LD first or anything. This is just a standalone summery, folksy, countryish gem.

Already on this one and quite like what I hear for now.

Cool. Provide frequent updates, always fun to hear a newcomer's first impression!

Will do boss! This is also one of the rare cases were interludes throughout an album don't really bother me. So that's a big plus.

Drops in the Lake is powerful stuff, instant favourite off of this. Really dig this record. Only small dud is I lied for me.

Lol, well with strong Sowing, Skylark, and Doof ratings I will definitely give this a try at some point.

only heard it once. it's definitely respectable but nothing rly stood out to me as anything more than nice-sounding, polished production and what not

I mean this latest one doesn't sound miles away from the Honey Harper debut...and the strings early in the album reminded me of 'Pyramid Song'/Moon Shaped Pool tracks at times strangely

I definitely prefer this later sound though, songs seem more memorable too...if still a little too mellow/blend'y in places

sounds like something i'd vibe with in a bar or as background music but wouldn't go out of my way to listen to. i do think mine forever is a pretty great song tho. maybe it'll open up more on repeat plays but most of the time i found it hard to focus on
