this sounds way different from their new stuff. They've been going downhill since this album (I liked Black Holes but The Resistance blows)

No but I just don't understand why you would call their newer stuff 'prog'
BH&R is just a more catchy, strung out version of absolution and TR is a full rehash of everything they've done before + Exogenesis. I don't really see what's proggy about that.
