Antonoff is my favorite producer. Surprised this hasn't gotten its hooks in me more, but I still enjoy it and expect it to grow.

makes sense for them to go full DNC with the album title after being cancelled over the bush thing

Genuinely shocked to see the praise for Antonoff. Been a huge fan since the first Bleachers record (and fun.) and I was under the impression sputnik at large didn't like his production style.

you're also hearing from a very pop-aligned sample here - wouldn't be surprised if the larger sput perspective on him is mediocre. the first bleachers album is pretty perfect to me, dude just hits my emotional synthy 80s sweet tooth

Antonoff has done some stuff I've really really loved over the years but he doesn't strike me as a particularly great producer, he's got a very straightforward maximalist thing going on that doesn't always fit the project he's working on.

i agree he definitely has a formula, though i've been very impressed with some of his recent attempts to stray from it (e.g. venice bitch)
