None of her albums have ever worked tbf, shes always been terrible at music
Shes just such a hilarious person that her star power supercedes her terrible music (and dancing skills)

I like it for how cohesive it is, but yeah, might numb my rating down a notch - nothing comes close to the songs on fame monster.
stupid love is amazing when on the go, however. it's really grown on me.

So has she learnt to sing what the song needs yet or does she still wail nonsense like a banshee?
I swear Gaga is the Yngwie Malmsteen of pop, just because she can hit some incredible notes doesn’t mean you have to do it every 1.5 seconds in a song.

She still a tourettes banshee but its maybe slightly more toned down

"None of her albums have ever worked tbf, shes always been terrible at music"
I'd disagree at least partially (the "terrible at music" part). It's certainly debatable the extent to which an album "works" but I'd agree that none of her albums have been smooth-flowing masterpieces - for me, she's always been a singles artist. With that said, The Fame is like 1/3 hit singles that I love lol. Anyhow, she clearly has the ability to craft a mean hook, unless someone writes the songs for her, in which case she's still a good singer and an excellent entertainer.

I stand by it, I've even convinced some of my biggest lady gaga fan friends to admit that all of her music is objectively terrible. Shes like The Room of pop.

And I fucking love her all the more for it

The album is really consistent, but none of the tunes blew me out. Dig the overall dance sound

The Elton John feature makes me cringe so hard

Yeah, that's the low point.

?
that song is by far the most interesting on the back half

i mean its not Elton at his best, but its not terrible

Elton song is definitely not the low point and the album is anything but consistent. Massive quality disparity between tracks, there are some 1/5s some 2-2.5s and some 4-4.5s.

Always liked Elton, but I feel the song itself offers more than he does there.
Having listened more, the production is done well, but I am still hearing an album that is more of a pleasant sugar rush than exceptional.

when elton sings alone its a bit off tbh but the song is probably the best on the record
|

yeah it kind of reminds me of when lou reed sang on that gorillaz song and you're like wow i never realized lou reed was a terrible singer

I'm listening to the album right now and I'm enjoying it - some songs are a bit too short but I actually dig how straightforward the whole thing is. Stupid Love is the perfect kind of cheesy, and the Blackpink collab works better in the context of the album than as a standalone.
I can see why people miss stuff like Joanne, but personally I could never get much into that album despite respecting what it was going for. Chromatica might not be close to her peak but it's still pretty fun.
