It's better, but not "so much better" than AL that's fair

This is good but I wouldn't put it above After Laughter or Brand New Eyes.

Think that's p much my opinion too

"The only Paramore that beats this is Brand New Eyes tbh"
the only Paramore that this beats is their best album??
I'd take this in a heartbeat over the self-titled, and probably over After Laughter which tbh I have almost entirely forgotten as a record

Yeah on second listen I'm still not seeing the appeal. It just feels so unfocused. It feels like Hayley is striving for both a detached, reserved cool and a big, splashy confession, and the 'have your cake and eat it too' approach neuters both attempts. Too many of the metaphors don't offer much below the surface. One song per part strikes some gold (Sudden Desire, Rose/Lotus/Violet/Iris, Crystal Clear) but it's way too uneven.

@Grand try "Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris," "Why We Ever," or "Leave it Alone"
Or for a poppy alternative "Sudden Desire"

Try why we ever and crystal clear. If you don’t like those don’t bother

Thanks for the suggestions. Listened to all of them and the only one that was remotely interesting to me was Sudden Desire. The rest just sounded like pop without any real hooks and Haley's tendency to sing the title of the songs ad nauseam is grating.
I really don't understand the fuss about this album. At least After Laughter had some jams.

Yeah it’s pretty hit or miss throughout and hovers between average and good
