I'd say gathering is 3rd/4th. It doesn't sound like classic testament, but it's heavy as hell, to the point and full of adrenaline.

finishing up my first listen, sounds pretty good! :D
Hoglan and DiGiorgio are great as expected, Peterson and Skolnick bring the riffs and solos, and Chuck is solid as ever. Very mid-paced album, there doesn't seem to be too much thrashing tbh but that's fine with me.
no complaints really, just another good release from a consistent band.

dnr is one of the best song testament's ever written. if the rest of the album had been as good it would've been their best.

the solos are awesome but jesus there is way too much slow-mid paced riffing this isn't even thrash at this point

D.N.R. might actually be my favourite Testament song, as much as I love the classics. Sure, when you start that strong it's hard for anything to be that good, but many of them come close.
As for this, I tend to agree it's solid as usual but does seem to lack some speed and fury.

Kinda agree with this. I feel like it's heavy, but doesn't truly go all out many times.
It's consistently very solid, but I don't know what songs I could label standouts.
Formation had the t/t, more than, persecuted, henchmen. Loved that album.
Dark roots for me was weaker, but throne of thorns kicks ass, and true american hate.
Brotherhood had the t/t, centuries of suffering and Number Game.
From this, mayybe Chirldren, maybe Curse?
