I'm still trying to find the most analogous albums to compare this to, but I feel like it will end up misrepresenting it no matter what I do. Maybe a blend of Damage and Chase This Light? It's not "raw" but it's very basic, yet somehow also not boring because of how memorable/catchy the melodies are. Lol.

Damage's songwriting with Chase This Light's production maybe kinda? (Not that I've heard it all)

That'd be the best I could describe it.

555's production is so bright. I think I can only really enjoy it quietly in the background, where the lyrics and melodic mood can shine through without the distractions of all the invasive synth. That's just my early take on it and I'm sure others will get into it and I hope they do.

All the Way just clicked with me. Still having trouble getting into Love Never though.

Didn’t know Jim was an alcoholic. At least he certainly makes it sound that way in this interview:

Seems that he quit drinking right after Damage was released. Could explain why there was a renewed vigor, passion and creativity to Integrity Blues.

Lol. Yeah I also don't really like Love Never. I thought it was crap when I first heard it but now with the new mix I'm a little warmer on it. It's just OK. All the Way is fun.

Also interesting to note that they took a year hiatus between Damage and Integrity Blues. Apparently because they started to write their new album and they felt like it wasn't coming together.
Jim went on a solo tour and produced a solo EP. Zach produced a couple of EPs with his wife under the name A Wretched Desert. Tom took up boxing. And Rick opened up a brewery.

I caught a snippet of 555 on the UK itunes store. I wasn't sure how I felt about the vocal production at first but on further listens I think it works really well. Has a hazy, nightlife vibe, which I live for. It is a different vibe from the live version, but equally as good. Hopefully, they release an acoustic version at some point.

Extremely well-written review. Like you I place a lot of emotional weight and nostalgia to certain songs and the parts of my life that came with them. Jimmy Eat World is really important to me in that regard. I'm really excited to listen to this.

I feel him. Never have I felt such pain waiting for an album haha. They probably haven't heard it, though. Just predict ratings I'm gathering, which is the silliest thing if true.

OK you win lol! Dude every 3 years when a new Jimmy album is on its way I'm pretty much in a holding pattern. For some really lame reason I can't explain, this is the most important thing to me right now.
But yeah you're right it's so close and I can wait. I just need distractions and complaining about it online happens to be one of them! :P :D

Guys I'm a huge Jimmy fan and this is good, but it's not a life changer so don't blow your whole week waiting for this with baited breath. You'll enjoy it but it's not gonna crack your top 4 Jimmy albums.
