the worst track here is "The First Time", mostly because of the embarrassing lyrics. wish they picked a different track for the opener

The First Time sounds like a Diet Feeling This.

Clearly the band can write strong songs because "Ransom" is great. But a whole lot of this is hard to get through.

Despite my gripes I wish this was the album that came after Neighborhoods instead of California. Some good jams on here

I’m one of the few who thought California was ok. I have both at 3, but I definitely think this is a bit better.

The first song on this is just a shitty Feeling This

y'all who think Neighborhoods is better than this mist not have revisited This Is Home or Love Is Dangerous in a minute. fuck those songs suck
even the best songs on that album have the ridiculously inconsistent production and Tom emailing his shit in to Mark and Travis to contend with. its certainly a record with some high moments but as an album? not too good (the stupid ass standard tracklisting does not help this matter)

hottest take itt: Mark and Matt on this album have more vocal chemistry than Tom and Mark did since TOYPAJ (aka before it become a 75-25 vocal split in Tom's favour)

Neighborhoods is better than this but yes it is inconsistent in feeling. I think the quality is tops for most of it though.
"Love is Dangerous" rules though, wtf.

worst chorus in their whole discog for me, lol. Mark almost saves it but Tom's main melody is just painfully bad. again a song that probably could have been great with any producer convincing them to be in the same room, but as is just doesn't work.... but it's better than TIH at least

Honestly the only track I hate here is the opener
Travis is a beast during that closer tho, damn. same with "Ransom" and "Generational Divide"
