Its unfortunate it tends to get a bit snubbed at their live shows since it is quite a bit different than all their other material. I love it.

Snubbed as in they don't play this stuff much or the crowd doesn't respond as well to it?

I meant that they don't play it much, but that is likely tied to the crowd reaction. Crowd seems to dig the couple they play (almost always Float to the Top and 1 other track off this), but the crowd seems to go a lot more wild for stuff off Much Love and Stovall.

parts of this kind of remind me of say hello to sunshine

Just saw these guys, Free Throw, Charmer, Dikembe, Prince Daddy, and Cloud Nothings at The Fest in Gainesville over the weekend, and I gotta say they killed it.
Free Throw put on the the best show of the group, but Microwave was a very close second. only downside was they didn't really play this album. it was mostly Much Love.

it unfortunately seems like the band is treating it like a say hello to sunshine as well > : (

Damn, The Fest looked great this year. Based on the bands I have seen live in that group:
Microwave > Prince Daddy > Free Throw >= Charmer = Cloud Nothings
I am heading to Pensacola this weekend for Night Moves to see Microwave, Manchester Orchestra, Hovvdy, Soccer Mommy and Pool Kids and I am HYPED

i'm so upset i missed Pool Kids this year at Fest. still haven't seen them live and their S/T is one of my fav albums on 2022 and apparently they put on a great show!

My gf and I flew to Pensacola for a small fest that microwave is playing at and ran into the entire band in our hotel lobby. Absolutely wild.

Ended up talking with the band quite a bit throughout the day. Guitarist confirmed to me that the 3 singles they’ve released over the past year are in fact for a full album release. He said some time next year. Not sure why the long drawn out release.
Nate (singer) also tapped me on the should during Manchester orchestras set to ask me what album the song they were playing was off. Surreal moment having a favorite singer of yours ask you what song another favorite band of yours is playing lol

Listening to this for the first time and the As You Please/Daisy comparison couldn't be more accurate lol. Great stuff, think I like Stovall the best tho.

@Jay I think that similar to Daisy this could grow on you, thats how both albums were for me anyway

It’s rather absurd how close this and Daisy are in music and presentation. There’s a lot to process and impossible to digest in a single sitting. While I enjoy both (and typically heavier music overall) I prefer the more lighthearted feel of their other albums. Microwave new album drops in 48 hours yeah?

i hope i dig it. this felt like a big step forward for them so i have been worried about how heavily it seems like theyre walking it back. this is the only album of theirs i vibe with tho
