i'm more partial to Comatose tbh
|

Comatose is better imo, but Collide is more nostalgic for me.

Comatose is definitely catcher, but fucking goddamn do I miss the aggression of Collide.
John Cooper could actually deliver believable screams back then.

Here we go.
https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/skillet-to-release-new-single-surviving-the-game-in-september/
"Our new song, 'Surviving The Game', makes me feel like a bull about to come out of the gate," he says. "Within the first 30 seconds of the song, you're taken on a journey that begins with uncertainty and trepidation and leads to an explosion of energy and life. That sums up how I see the future.
"This has been a tough season, and we are not yet through the storm. We need hope, we need grit, and we will survive. I hope that when people hear 'Surviving The Game', it will be the song they've been waiting for."
Don't get me wrong, I hope it's good - but that's one hell of a fucking track summary right there.

Maybe they can deliver, but my hopes are not high.

I'd absolutely be down if they can deliver, but after three pretty mundane albums my optimism is low.

Saw them live back in 2016/17 - honestly, they killed it. It was a small venue in the UK and it seemed like a more humble gig (as opposed to stadium fillers) actually brought out some of the best elements to the band's work.
They absolutely nailed 'My Salvation', for instance.

I feel like I’m the only one who thinks that Alien Youth is one of their best records

Album Rating: 2.5
Alien Youth is definitely the best of their pre-mainstream rock albums, I'll say that much
|
| |
I still mess with Kill Me, Heal Me

Alien Youth is one of their best records
and there aren't very many

Alien Youth is fun.
The Thirst Is Taking Over will always be a top 5 Skillet track imo, that song is fucking exquisite.

That's a good one too

New song is meh.
|
| |
Meh is pretty accurate. Would've been cooler if they kept the pace of the intro riff more than for just for the bookends of the song.
