Tried listening to Eucalyptus again and I this sound much better to me. I've never been a huge fan of the meanderring tracks that ANCO did and it feels like Eucalyptus is is mostly those.

It's the worst song but it isn't that bad and I'm not sure it really disrupts the flow

That and taken boy are my least favorites

Chapter and Taken are two of my faves tbh
This isn’t quite clicking like I want it to though, I can tell it’s really great but it’s missing something I can’t quite describe. The songs don’t really stay with me like the best AnCo stuff I’ve heard does.

Blasphemer
Speaking of, I had this above it for a while, but Eucalyptus stomps this in my book

Incredible album, and Portner's best for sure.

All of the most recent AC solo albums have been extremely impressive.

Apart from Sleep Cycle, this is the best AnCo solo effort since Tomboy at the very least. There's not a weak moment here.

This album is really great, it's just so... pleasant to the ears. Like its accessible but still so clearly other worldly at the same time.
Also I really like Our Little Chapter with the spacey squelches

I liked this more than I expected after my lukewarm reactions to tangerine reef and eucalyptus. Reminds me of some of the mellower tracks from feels and sung tongs.

Sort of hate “k.c. Yours”. Reminds me of “Father Time” from centipede in terms of the diminished chords and stuff. ABout to pass official judgment on this tho
“Taken boy” sounds like it’s about to be a fire cover of deerhunter’s “revival”

Hot take: panda bear record is not bad? Not better than this but not “1.1 point difference not better”

With repeated listens, I prefer the new Panda Bear album. I seem to be in the minority though, and I can understand why others aren't digging it.

the production motif/concept is pretty unappealing: echoing guitar strums with water-sound percussion, over and over again? but dude's got tunes
