Personally I’m having a much easier time with this game than my initial play through of Bloodborne, but that might be because I’ve had a little practice with this style of game.
Personally I fucking love it so far, maybe have him rent it?

my friend, he's a n00b, he will never live to hear the prayers of Kos, or some say Kosm. Grant us eyes.

"Alright fuck that second Guardian Ape fight. It wasn't even hard, just insanely tedious."
Lol I'm actually so upset at From for this. They took one of the best fights in the game, and I'd argue one of the best they've ever done, and turned it into a gank fight shortly after. Ridiculously lazy of them. I'd honestly have preferred there being no boss there.

It's funny how many are calling this game a masterpiece despite the apparent flaws that are being discussed here.
|

It’s a FromSoft game, they all have mad flaws. I wish they’d buckle down for a few years and make a sprawling full blown RPG with a more substantial story and more cutscenes.
I know that’s not what most fans want from them, and I love their games as they are, but I think they could do that type of game really well.

That said, I’m only about ten hours into Sekiro.

What game is without flaw? Even though there are flaws in this it still excels in basically every department. The bosses are some of the best they've ever made and the level design absolutely is the best they've ever done, hands down. Lmk when you guys get to fountainhead palace. Hands down the best level Fromsoft has ever made. The dlc is going to have a hard time topping it imo.

Here we fucking go, about to pop this straight into my PS4

The lack of cinematic cutscenes in any of these games has always been the biggest flaw for me. And I know most people that play these games love to figure things out on their own, but I’d like a little more explanation as to what I’m even doing, I feel like half the time I don’t know what the hell im supposed to be doing.
Having said that, the melee combat is ridiculously amazing, and the stealth is suprisingly well done.

Not to mention the drop dead gorgeous environments

Just fought the Guardian Ape last night and he destroyed my soul. Love the fight though, first time THAT happened, I dropped my controller, along with my jaw, had zero healing items so I just embraced my destiny.

I beat the ape boss tonight after trying an hour last night. Feelsgoodman. Then went and fought the 2 apes at a time and done first go :3

I am dreading that part greatly...

Any tips for Genichiro?
|
| |
Up to Lady Butterfly, Headless and/or the snake gauntlet so far and wow, you guys really hyped up the difficulty. It's not easy (at all) but honestly am having an easier time adjusting to this than Bloodborne back in the day
|
| |
there's A LOT harder shit coming up don't worry
for genichiro i stayed very aggressive on him because his posture meter built up quick. i also used the shuriken any time he jumped in the air since IIRC it interrupts the multi-shot. in the last phase i just got the fuck out whenever he did lightning stuff and kept up the aggression. sorry if that's a little vague
|
| |
Ah fab, fuck me up
|
| |
that helps, trilo. I'm trying to remain aggressive, but I'll definitely try using shrukien as well. My buddy and I beat Lady Butterfly yesterday Also beat the brilliantly named Long-arm Centipede Giraffe
|
| |
Genichiro is still the hardest fight in the game for me so far.
Also does anyone have advice for Headless or the Abandoned Dungeon miniboss? I have a feeling I'll straight up just never beat them.
|
| |
i honestly felt the same around where you're at but there's some brutal stuff coming up. i had the easier ending too apparently.
@Veldin: one thing i learned too is that posture damage sticks harder the lower health an enemy has. so if you need to be patient to manage your own posture and slowly whittle the boss down that can work wonders. also, if you tap guard fast it's really hard to get hit so if you're unsure about timing that will help a lot too.
but really the most important thing is just learning the combos through practice
@Gallantin: which one? the shaman guy?
