Those lower case letters are edgyyyyy

I should probably check Code Orange if they're Converge-esque, 'lite' or not.
I don't think lower case artist names are edgy anymore, that ship has long since sailed.

have yet to check Majority Rule. Does it "rules"? yeah I got some sort of relation with early CodeO though in the way they use of electronics to create the same sort of textures but mainly is the way they look like young relentless kids crossing genres, being pretty basic and fresh at same time. Like they look kinda free in what they do, still.

@Demon I think you won't like the new Code Orange (latest 2 LP's)...maybe Love is Love (early) is for you though

Majority Rule is like one of the best screamo bands ever, and definitely one of the heaviest.

I've got a confession... the word 'screamo' means nothing to me, like what even is it?

'I think its a screaming+emo vox feature'
As you'd expect yeah, but what's it like instrumentally, or it can that be any number of things?

I think its just a sort of an emotional high pitch vocal feature associated to the hc and emo genres...but there's prob someone who enlighten this with more certainty

I think screamo is one of the harder genres to describe because a lot of the descriptors (screamed vocals, often chaotic instrumentals, short songs, time signature changes, etc etc) describe a million other genres as well. additionally, screamo has (wrongly) been used to describe literally every genre with screaming. I think if you listen to orchid, pageninetynine, reversal of man, and the like you’ll start to hear what makes it a distinct genre

Basically what he said ^ only majority rule has just as much in common with grind and deathwish hardcore as it does the post-rocky builds of say city of caterpillar

Just listen to interviews with David Frost, it’s a classic within the genre. If you like heavy music I don’t see you outright disliking it

Thanks guys. I've noticed how screamo isn't even a genre on Sput, guess if an artist has a combination of genres including emo & possibly hardcore then they're likely part of the screamo umbrella.

Screamo, like metalcore as of late, has gotten an exceedingly bad rap based on what magazines and music publications started labeling as those genres. If you can sift through the bullshit to what the genres were at their core you’ll find some really gnarly stuff

Fair enough. I have literally no opinion on the genre either way, as I haven't actually listened to any of it... I won't be passing judgement based on any 2nd hand 'information' I may have heard. I'll do a little digging. Why is there so much music? Both an awesome feeling & a tad frustrating too.
