I’m really really digging the key change in the final chorus of Youth Division

I don't think Ryan's cleans are particularly better than those in C/D, but they work better. The musicianship in this album is apparent and the songs are better off for it. Less predictable and hit harder like they did in STN. Also the last chorus in Youth Division is dope

One of my favourite moments as well.

"Most of the songs contain a guitar melody of either a solo or note picking that enhances the performance with the creative mesh of the heavy, chugging guitar mixed with the eerie, ever-present strings in the background" reads off really awkwardly. But other than that, great review. I never thought I'd see the day someone is complimenting chugging and breakdowns. Backbreaker is an absolute banger.

funny thing is Tower Of Pain is their least listened to single on Spotify since Deathgrip dropped even though it's by far the best.

On my first listen of this, so first impression only. The production on this is really off putting. It feels compressed to the point where any dynamic is completely lost. I feel no additional heavyness or oomph in a breakdown compared to the verse or chorus. Anyone else feeling the same?
Musically it's pretty cool though. Pretty catchy actually.

Never heard of these guys until this week, but listened to this album and I LOVE it. Any recommendations of what to listen to in their discography next?

I hope this is album is not as terrible as the frontman's ideology. (he's a quasi right wing turd)Then again, nothing new for Jesuscore. (lookin at cha, Montgomery and Mullins)

Eh, l don't give a shit about the band members political views, l just judge them on the music. See enough fuckin political talk on social media. Over it.

@master I'd just go chronologically. As for Descendents (the redux or og mix) it depends if you want raw production with bad cleans (og) or best cleans with no real oomph (redux)

OG mixed descendants or gtfo

This album is everything metalcore should be. It's got a solid message, great ambient and melodic sections while at the same time giving me the urge to punch a chimpanzee.

I need to listen to the OG mix, I’ve only listened to the redux

Production is great, vocals are great, lyrics are average at best. The clean vocals do nothing for me. I'll lump this into "pretty solid 2018 metalcore"

Thanks Tyman and Steak, will probably listen to STN and then Deathgrip.
