The band and Anup previewed snippets of new music on an Instagram story, and it was fantastic. Very atmospheric, and holy hell did the bass slap.

I'm probably missing something here. It's not this one, is it? https://www.instagram.com/p/B7YoX44H32E/

Nooo that's their playthrough of Celestial with Tosin Abasi's thing. They previewed a bit of an entirely new song and tagged it as such. It's gone now though.

I've been giving it a few more spins as of late, to be honest. Blind Side I think is their best here.

Dim and title track as well. Wish the riffs were higher in the mix though, there's some good ones on here.

Anyone hear anything recently? I haven't but was curious. I can't believe this came out in 2018, and that was after it was delayed for ages. Feels like just yesterday. LP4 has got to be written by now I hope.

I doubt it. I haven't heard anything about new music from these guys in a while. I sometimes fear that this intercontinental band experiment has reached its end point and the band is actually over, which would be a damn shame.

It's looking that way, and not really at the fault of the band either.
They started remotely with Dan, and somehow put out a killer album and did some touring with him by using their surrounding hype to play supporting acts in NA.
Dan quits.
Then they hired & practiced with a new vocalist, and made Sunshine Dust.
They didn't like the first completed master of Sunshine Dust, so spent ages having it re-done to their liking. Lost a lot of steam & hype in doing so, it came out without much fanfare or attention and got middling reviews.
They try to tour again, and Monuments' idiot manager screws up Visas, tour gets cancelled, dates re-set from fall 2019 to May 2020.
COVID happens, band cannot tour or even practice together since March 2020, old drummer gets the boot/quits.
Now crickets.
Makes me wonder if they're not better off finding an Indian vocalist that suits their needs so they can be a cohesive unit again.

I don't think it would help all that much tbh. For one thing, even if the vocalist is Indian the band is still not really local. Keshav lives in New Delhi. Krishna lives in Bombay. Devesh lives in Los Angeles.
Also, being a full-time Indian metal musician is impossible. At best, guys like Keshav make ends meet as producers or have businesses and jobs that give them flexibility to tour once in a while. Others have hustles in the film or indie pop music industry. Therefore, anyone they get to front Skyharbor will almost certainly treat the band as a side project and not their main project.

Last year during the lockdowns they teased new songs they were writing together on their Instagram; they sounded really nice too.
Eric is a guest vocalist on the new Scale the Summit album coming out and he's credited as being part of Skyharbor, so the band must be still around.
I'm sure they're trying to incorporate Anup back into the writing process as he's expressed interest in rejoining the band. Also, India has like 40 strains of COVID spreading around which I'm sure is impacting the members over there.

Yeah I actually kind of liked the song that StS put out with the Kindo vocalist. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the other collabs. Good to see Mike Semesky's name on something again.

Dang I'm no STS fan (Chris Letchford doesn't have a great rep), but Semesky? And those others? Wow, color me intrigued.
I originally spelled his name Semensky. I almost like that one more LOL.
