This seems to be the album that's finding its way into everyone's top 5 irrespective of what else they're listening to in 2018

Mmm, somewhat like that Rolo Tomassi record. Seems to have something for everyone.

Rolo Tomassi is good but not an AOTY contender for me.
If the first half of the album was as enjoyable as the second half then maybe.
This thing is great all the way through imo

I enjoyed Rolo Tomassi for a week but I’ve had no inclination to re-listen to it. This however feels like it will have much more longevity.

ooooo a new highly rated metalcore album wee havent heard it yet

Tbh I never got on the Rolo hype train, but in terms of its fairly universal praise from people from all sorts of musical backgrounds I feel like it's similar to this record. I agree with boney though, this thing feels like it has tonnes of replay value. Fucking layers.

One song in and it’s definitely leaning more on the cool side than the awful side

You have to listen to all the Rolo T - half way through i'm always on the fence, second half is killer and makes you retrospectively buy into the whole album...I'm not sure how it does it but it works every time.
Because it's an album I shouldn't really dig too much.

Have you heard the birthday party?

i find this a lot more accessible than the average nick cave
the argument on the first page is so dumb especially with a label as broad as "post punk"
