That's a pretty specific rating you have an issue with.

Yeah, I just happened to notice that quite a lot of albums have it that don't deserve anything above like 3,3

Like the new At The Gates, maybe?

Haven't listened to it yet, the title track is shamelessly derivative from blinded by fear though. not even dimmu ever plagiarized themselves that hard xD

Ha ha. I was just asking because that's my review rating of the AtG album. I will say, the two singles are definitely the most generic on the album...

--It's probably better than this album--

... and it is better than this album.

Doubt it but we'll see. And what's the point of comparing 2 completely different bands/style of music??? Lol

Sometimes it can be done. In this case it's who has the better comeback album ;)

Hard to keep focus on most of these songs, but Archaic Correspondance -> Alpha Aeon Omega is good.

I feel like a lot people are giving this a lot of unnecessary hate but who knows. Half the people saying it sucks haven't even listened to it lol.

It's definitely unnecessary. If this was a debut album, people would likely love it.

There's a lot of hate floating around for a few of the new metal albums. This one, AtG, and Alkaloid have a lot of vocal dissenters right now.

Exactly. It doesn't sound like 90's Dimmu so it automatically blows lol.

It's not terrible, it's definitely better than Abrahadabra, and more interesting than In Sorte Diaboli. Some of the choir parts are annoying, I don't really like the "uplifting" choral melodies they use on this that sound straight out of a musical. Interdimensional Summit might be one of the worst songs they've ever written. The spacey keyboard tones are great and there are some really cool moments on this for sure. I might bump it up to a 3.5.

It's so disjointed, and that chorus is too much for me, but this album isn't terrible. I commend them for trying to do something a little different and more atmospheric.

Wish I could give it a 3,5, maybe someday. Too bad the number of the boring songs really counterbalances the great ones

might change my mind though

I'm digging again the DB albums I have already listened to, when I'm finished I intend to listen to this. Is it better than Abrahadabra overall?
