I know you can do heavy doof but even you admitted this was a nice surprise, you weren’t necessarily expecting good things.

There are occasional moments of cringe/cheese but unlike the select few other albums I've heard in this style it manages to sound genuine instead of wanky. Even the vocals work, for the most part. Overall, it's excellent.

Color me impressed.

What surprises me the most is how short this feels. Each song just flows perfectly into the next, seamlessly transitioning. Each has its own identity, yet it fits so well together that it feels like one gigantic track as a whole. I find myself wanting to mash the replay button what feels like only five minutes later, I just get lost in the journey

Hopefully it will continue to beguile me with repeat listens rather than just have novelty entertainment value.

Seriously though, at least half of the runtime of this is comprised of stuff that's really not all that far away from things I usually enjoy.

this hard, I bought this on bandcamp today and was really shocked to see the run time of like 53 minutes, it feels shorter because it's so easy to get engaged in each individual song as well as the songs working as a whole, the dynamics of the songs are just layered beautifully, just get lost in the journey as you say

Either that or I'm just a copycat who can't have his own opinion on things.

I enjoy this record and I do agree with the reviewer that it's one of the better aggressive acts to hit the scene lately. I'm also of the opinion that this sounds like Zao with a female guest vocalist.
