For Dissection I’ve only heard Storm of the Lights Bane but I need to give that a refresher spin soon. For the other, their first album isn’t on spotify (only way I check music these days) is their other stuff worth checking? Ill add Drudkh to my saved too

If you've heard Dissection and Sacramentum and you like what you're hearing with that Swedish melodic bm sound, I'd also recommend Vinterland, Dawn and the second Marduk record "Those of the Unlight" (which is entirely different from the Marduk you're used to hearing).

Vinterland isn’t on Spotify -sad face- but I added the others to my saves to check. Damn I’m gonna have a lot of stuff to check, time for my objectivity to tank. I might need to listen to some garbage amongst these to help that lmao

That's what I do as well tbh. I listen to A TON of metal (since that's the genre I'm accustomed to the most) I know I'm going to dislike (and in most cases I do end up disliking it lol) just to make up for all the stuff I do like.

Yeah I use to just download everything back in 2010-2014 but yeah it’s near impossible now. That and I just don’t have a computer that I use anymore

I could get a new copy of Sacramentum’s first on Amazon for like $30 but I will never pay that much for a cd lol

Ah I paid like 80 for a Cancer CD. I think that's the most I've paid for a single CD. JFAC Sun Eater vinyl is like 100$ that's no fun.

anyway this Mgla CD is readily available (:

The most I’ve paid for a cd is around $15. I try to stick around $10 and honestly will rarely go above that.

Speaking of Sun Eater that is one tasty collection of music

I’m a downloading fiend: file sharing rules....but I do pay when I want to support. 3rd option is Apple Music family plan. I can find 90% of the things I want.

Most obviously the vocals. Nergal has a pretty distinctive emotional/shouty style, and was pretty surprised at how similar this guy's delivery was to that. Also thought the melodies have kind of an epic urgency, with trumpets and all that added into the mix, slower sections with primal drums, super bombastic track endings - called to mind a lot of tracks from the satanist especially. It's certainly not 'nothing' like Behemoth, and I'm sure both bands are probably quite aware of each other given they're 2 of the most famous in Polish extreme metal.

i think it's more their both just enunciating similarly because they both have Polish accents rather than the vox really being that similar. M uses a more traditional growl while Nergal's is much more throaty and projecting.
