Consensus has mostly turned around but I vividly recall people being more split on his stuff solely because of how hard he'd go in on the cheese. A decent bit of forum digging (see: Smiley Smile) would lend credence to this. Of course, that was then. Unrelated to Sunflower (but Bruce-related), it was massive missed opportunity that Ten Years of Harmony was relegated to a single for a failed collaboration between him, Brian and some other artists because Bruce wasn't in the band anymore. It's the perfect microcosm of his songwriting in just two minutes, plus there's no goofy outro tacked on like the remake on "Keepin' the Summer Alive" has. Very much recommend seeking the song out if you like his stuff on this and Surf's Up.
