The problem is that you are one of those people who think these guys are just playing random garbage.

They know exactly what they're doing, which is why it's hard for people to get into them. You sometimes have to listen to songs a lot. I had to listen to "Sugar Coated Sour" ten times before I found what was going on.

DEP is not Dream Theater. Everything is put together perfectly and fits whereas Dream Theater just lets one after the other solo on top. DT is musical wankery.

I wholeheartedly agree.

DT are bad in my opinion too whilst DEP rock loads! my m8 would try and kill all of you for suggesting that DT are not gods lol.

Why is it Subtle's reviews always attract the most interesting (and sometimes troublesome) people and posts?

No one knows. I think it's because people just want to see if they can beat him in an argument and they know he comes back to his reviews. Then it turns out they can't.

Well, I never considered it one of the best James Bond films.

I tend to review at least semi-mainstream stuff.

FF's right too, though.

Oh cool! I've been rooting for SD to get modded since Joshmay did.

I just bought this album, hence the bumpage. Ive never heard any other TDEP but having heard all the hype I thought I'd get it. All I can say is that this album is INSANE, it deserves 5/5. Greg is a great vocalist and the guitar work is excellent, and dont get me started on the drummer. This album is awesome.

not as good as the debut, but one of my favorite albums of the year nonetheless. though DEP's best release will still always be the Irony EP with Patton...woohoo

It's a solid record, no doubt about it.

I still prefer their previous releases, but that doesn't distract me from the quality of this album. I love this band.

So it's still a good buy if you're new to DEP? I'm choosing between this or Calculating Infinity..

I would say Calculating Infinity would be a better buy than this one.

As much as I love Calculating Iffinity, I'd say this is better buy for your first DEP album.

so would I, I've heard a few tracks of calculating infinity and it's a lot less.. accessible (not that miss machine is very accessible either) this will help you get used to them.

ive heard stuff from this album and CI and the new album seems to be produced alot better, and greg's vocals are alot more powerful and technically better than the lasts. I think the songs on the new album are alot better written and unique too. The first vocallist also seemed a tad generic

Calculating was more defining for them. In my opinion it had better production. Get that first.
