considering some of the shit people review highly these days this rating system isn't that far-fetched to be honest
this was one of if not the first full metallica albums i actually heard, given that it came out when i kind of "found out" about them or whatever and I've always loved those first two tracks
even if i haven't got that far into stuff beyond that this has always seemed like one of the most over-hated, over-shat on albums of all time to me

Really like the approach you took on reviewing the album, and i agree somewhat, even if the review itself isn't that great... And i think 5'ing the album seems a bit disingenuous, but I think one of the most interesting things about this album is that a perfectionist producer like Bob Rock could dish out such a sloppy, poorly produced album with fucking Metallica...
