Get Hurt and Above The Bridge could have been great if Davey didn't sound as "bored". I do think its definitely a comfort thing, but that doesn't mean it is interesting. Also Hidden Knives through Above A Bridge all sound very similar making that section of the album less interesting (although Hidden Knives is really good).

DU is about as far from "great" as you can get imo. i haven't listened to it in years but i haaaaaaaaaated it back in the day.

I liked Snow Cats originally but Davey sounds so flamboyant in the verse and it just sounds awkward, especially in some of the live videos I've seen.

This is much better than Burials to me, and loads and loads better than Crash Love. As someone who's listened to these guys since Black Sails, I gotta say I'm pretty fucking pleased!

Also the beginning riff on So Beneath You sounds straight out of Very Proud of Ya, or is that just me??

Pink Eyes and Feed From the Floor immediately stood out to me on the very first listen. That was like a one-two punch of awesomeness.

Decemberunderground is great. It has a very distinct vibe. The only problem I have with DU is that they never played the UK version of Miss Murder live.

So I have just about worked out a track ordering for this record that makes it a solid 3.5 for me

DU is one of their better post-STS records, I've always been a fan

Same here. DU is what got me into them back in high school.
Great review

DU is an easy 2

DU is the worst of the post-STS albums. It's basically a total mess. I mean I enjoy it a guilty way. But everything after has been way more focussed.

And contra to this review basically every song on this new record is better than The Interview lol.

I'm really surprised at the median score of this from the community, because I found this to be awfully bland.
