Yeah, but the fact that no one makes basic songs like they make basic songs (right now) doesn't give them a pass to just make basic songs. Maybe it's cause I'm over breakdowns for breakdowns' sake and don't really fuck with beatdown like that, but I'm seriously just unimpressed with the writing.

You could feel the passion in Love is Love and Cycles to an extent, but this new stuff they seem like they're just trying to stomp your face in, which is cool and all, but the some of the songwriting is so weak sometimes.

Listened to Cycles and didnt think that was any good either.

I don't really think complexity has ever really been a facet of their music but the more harsh, mechanical sound works fine to me. I don't usually like beatdown stuff either but Code Orange is an exception.
