'Real rap' who honestly gives a shit. 'Man these dudes don't even have any gin-u-wine bullet scars, how can they educate me?'

I never said you had to have the kinda life to be "real", but you also don't need to write and present yourself like the most blatantly obvious marketing tool to attract the kind of ignorant Reddit heavy fanbases that will buy your stuff.

These guys do not educate either. The streets don't really fuck with them.

I don't expect to be educated in street smarts by a mainstream hip hop album in 2016

They just come off as "WERE SO MUCH BETTER THEN EVERYONE ELSE TODAY BECAUSE WE ARE ACTUUUUALLLYYY RAPPING ABOUT REAL STUFF. AND OH YEAH, DID I MENTION WE ARE ACTUALLY RAPPING ABOUT REAL STUFF AND WE ARE ACTUALLY RAPPING"

In other words, pretty much what I mean when I use the phrase "REAL rap"

@thiswaslastyear thats fine. My point was at least for the people I know who listen to them are the type that really enjoy Death Grips, J. Cole, etc. Like the type of people that are like "I only listen to conscious rap and avant garde production. Most rap is all about money, hoes n drugs so ignorant." I've seen a lot patterns with this stuff, but if you've seen differently thats cool

"My point was at least for the people I know who listen to them are the type that really enjoy Death Grips, J. Cole,"

There are people that exist that like both J Cole and Death Grips?

I don't know any RtJ fans who fuck with J. Cole

"They just come off as "WERE SO MUCH BETTER THEN EVERYONE ELSE TODAY BECAUSE WE ARE ACTUUUUALLLYYY RAPPING ABOUT REAL STUFF. AND OH YEAH, DID I MENTION WE ARE ACTUALLY RAPPING ABOUT REAL STUFF AND WE ARE ACTUALLY RAPPING""

There are far, far worse examples of this than these guys

im more angry at 60% of the lyrics on this consisting of Killer and El yelling RUN THE JEWELS than I am about them talking about how great they are.
