So I must admit that I'm pretty intrigued by the concept of this here album, but for the most part I'm not a really fan of the execution. I'm finding the spoken word bits and pieces much more interesting than the actual songs, and The Plague is just ??????? and not really in a good way.
I'm not totally put off from exploring her other work though, I can see hints of greatness here for sure.

This irritated me even more than her last, the use of the Adam Curtis quote is the eye roll moment of 2016. It sounds truly awful just plonked in there. She lands on some nice textures here and there, then there's a mildly ear catching vocal phrasing every now and again...but of all the indie darlings currently operating I'm most mystified by the lauding of Jenny Hval.
Nice work if you can get it, clever girl I think she's spreading her modicum of musical and poetic talent very very thin.

Did you hear her peeing on a bonfire? You see THAT's special.
