I'll be sure to rate when I feel like I have a good grasp on it.

Given how negative people were about the transitions and apparently nonsensical time signatures and other stuff, I figured it would be far more egregious than what I'm hearing. Metal always has abrupt transitions between riffs and speeds anyway. I'm only halfway through but I don't really see how this could create such a strong reaction in people.

I thought this was pretty cool honestly. Hasn't blown me away but I'll definitely come back to it. Kind of reminds me of a more oddball Hooded Menace, especially the doomier parts.

At least you aren't meme rating it a 1. It's obviously better than that.

"The awful production may be a lot to blame here too, so that's why I didn't rate it lower I guess."

First I've heard about the production being awful. I think the production perfectly fits the mood of the album, same guy that's done the past few Horrendous albums if I'm not mistaken.

This sounds a lot smoother than I remember the other one being.

lol it actually isn't.
at least, not for me.
although that may be because i hate most osdm revival bs anyways.
and i prefer my sloppiness to be in the playing than the songwriting.
and if sloppiness is going to exist, it should be exploited.

"I'm also just a big fan of Elektrokutioner, his unique approach to the leads on this album is what makes it sound so weird. Takes a little getting used to. Apparently he plays them a different fret apart from the rhythm than what's "standard". Interesting approach."

What does this even mean though.

Basically they're ignoring the harmonic relationships between certain chords and scales by playing the leads a semitone down from where they should be, making them sound out of tune. It's a really stupid way of trying to be different.

This isn't even close to being unique let alone "avanr garde"

how many OSDM revivalism albums play off key on purpose?
