I think combining black metal with blues elements has some huge potential. that said whatever potential there is it's certainly not realised here. the guy just throws gospel and black metal stereotypes together creating maybe two tracks that actually. at the end of the day it sounds more like a mashup than a particular approach to black metal and black music tradition.

Goddamn this is really incredible in both concept and execution when it works, just a shame it doesn’t work consistently throughout the album. Mostly it’s the off beat experimental and electronic stuff that sticks out but the core tracks are excellent.
