i mean the entire scene itself, on top of being ridiculously overlong, was out of place (beyond needing something to justify young ani as a good pilot or the precursor to a good pilot). that and again, every single line he says in the film

yeah humans who can manipulate microscopic beings in the balance of the universe to make things fly everywhere or choke people to death. Fantasy setting and fictional settings allow for character writing that does not depict real life.

Episode 7 was some of the most bullshit Star Wars ever.

I can write tens if paragraphs about why it blows and it's just a cash-grab, but I'd rather not as I have already been in a discussion like this numerous times and .. well fanboys will be fanboys. Sorry to say but prequels > force awakens.

Honestly, TFA is better objectively, but like, I completely agree. It just didn't feel like Star Wars unless OGTrilogy characters were on screen, and I like Rey and Fin and all the new characters. Also, the fact that there is literally no planets or species from the OG or prequel trilogies mentioned/shown bothered the fuck out of me, and made it feel like the movie takes place in some alternate star wars galaxy where everything is different but yet all the events from the first 6 movies still happened. Not too mention, the movie felt as Disney-like as they could make it while still keeping the Star Wars name.

It tried too hard to be Star Wars and it failed. Visually it had great effects, but they weren't interesting in the slightest bit. Because it all felt like one set. I liked Kylo believe it or not, but I ABSOLUTELY hated Finn and Rey. Rey for obvious Mary sue reasons. And don't try to bullshit me about Luke being a Mary Sue because it's not fucking true in the slightest bit.

Finn ... oh my god why ? Why did we have to put the stereotypical-oneliner-black guy into this. INTO STAR WARS. Supposedly set in a galaxy FAR FAR away. Y'all bitchin about sand ? How about this genius line : " You got a boyfriend, a cute boyfriend ? "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK. Where was the otherworldly authenticity ?! There are so many things wrong with that line, that I alnost died of cringe when I heard it. I'm gonna avoid talking about the Death Star 2.0 and basically New Hope 2.0 because it's obvious. Also Han asking for Rey to be his partner, after having met her like a week ago ? WHAT ? Do you guys realize how they completely fucked the characters. Admittedly there were some good Han Solo moments, but that enough wasn't enough to salvage this wreck.
