Yes a 5! I don't know if this is better than Kid A since Kid A has been out for 16 years but I do know it's close. And I have to say "Daydreaming" is easily their best track of all time. I originally thought it may not have been better than How to Disappear of Motion Picture Soundtrack but after days and days of listening I do believe it is.

This hasn't really grown on or off. It was impressive at first but didn't have that "peeling the onion" feel that some growers have. That's fine though, because this still sounds just as good to me now and hasn't deteriorated in quality either.

even though i love some of this band's works, seeing them compared to the likes of pink floyd has never sat well with me

Why do people keep thinking I am comparing them to Pink Floyd? The only way I drew a similarity to them was to say that they are both bands who enjoyed longevity and extensive influence in their time.

The key phrase here is "in their time". Obviously, Radiohead haven't had the same influence as Pink Floyd have had, simply due to the fact that they haven't been around as long. It's unfair to compare how influential the two bands are.

Personally, I did not. I just read that comment and agreed on a general level. Your review was great ;)

The key for me is not judging which band is more influential (although that matters a lot, but which one is more innovative. And, in that respect, Pink Floyd have the edge, from what I've heard from both bands so far.

Radiohead > Pink Floyd
In Rainbows > A Moon Shaped Pool > OKC > rest of discog. Also, Deck's Dark is very OKC-y I love it

Thanks!
Since it has been the talk of the thread, I'll weigh in: Pink Floyd has been more influential and by the end of each respective career, I believe they will have also enjoyed greater longevity. To me there's really no fair way to directly compare them, but if I had to, the edge goes to PF by a bit.
As I said though, there's no logical way to compare. Two different eras, two totally didn't approaches to making music.

some PF is truly godlike, but SO much of their discog is flavourless noodly inoffensive prog
