Gratz on the feature, it was well deserved. And I'm not surprised at the people hating on this. In no way does it deserve it though.

"yeah i literally dont even need to hear this to know you're indisputably wrong."

And that right there is how you formulate shitty, uneducated opinions.

i've always been a fan of his verbose and sometimes vague lyricism. whatever he means by it, if he means anything at all, is unknowable sometimes. therefore, in those cases, i end up adding my own meanings to the lyrics, which i find really fun.

yah, i dont see anything wrong with that. I think its the same reason I dig some of his music, too. its when you see people attributing him as some super intelligent artist where my gears start to grind.

Even aesop doesn't like when people try to make his words out to be some higher meaning. The dude doesn't write the way he does to try to be deep or anything which I think a lot of people don't realize.

aes isn't any more "intelligent" than the next guy. he just has his niche and he's done very well in it. and truthfully, whenever anyone calls an artist "intelligent hip-hop", as if other types of hip-hop are somehow brain dead, you can tell they don't listen to much rap

It's always the detractors calling him 'intelligent hip-hop' dude is just rapping in his style. He doesn't proclaim his own intelligence.

This album is very straight forward anyway

Aesop's fans are probably the worse part about aesop rock but I don't see how you can blame aes for that.

this 1000% i've never heard anyone who liked aes call him intelligent rap, it's just what the shit talkers all say everyone says.

"I don't normally listen to rap" should be the tip off they don't actually know what they're saying. I don't see how that makes aesop a bad artist.

am i the only person who thinks aesop is shit?

i liked a couple songs off of labor days, which is ridiculously overrated overall, but most of his albums are mediocre.

the only glaring con to this album that i hear off the top (first or second listen) is its similarity to bestiary (a superior album, imho). almost feels like tracks that he kept for his solo work from that era, the production and flow is near identical on aes' part. still a solid album, although definitely not his best.
