You mean that "training montage" section in that song? My favorite part actually I really think that 1985 and The Architect are better songs than Pareidolia and maybe they even are their best songs to date

is 1985 a tribute to the spectre within or some shit

On first listen, I don't think anything is as good is Atlas Stone or Falling Back To Earth but some moments here were definitely some of their best.

I want to like Earthrise a lot, but it's just soo annoying. I'm glad i'm not alone in that regard. The worst problem with it is how out of place it is. It goes from a dark towering epic to cheesy happy-prog.

Gave some of this a sample but was pretty disappointed tbh, might give it a proper spin at some point.

Damn. 1985 is pure cheese like Hasselhoff running down a beach in slo-mo. I think there are a couple cool songs or at least moments here, but some of this is pretty lame. All the talent in the world, but come on. The Mountain stands as proof that they can do much better.

This album's slowly growing on me. The Mountain is ultimately better, though.

First listen, I was not sure if I liked this, but you have to let it soak in for a couple more listens and it will grow on you. I agree it's not on par with The Mountain, but it's still pretty solid, though it lacks standout tracks like Falling Down From Earth and Somebody (which has a kickass ending). What I think fans will have the most difficulty with, is that 80's vibe throughout, which is light years away from the sound in The Mountain. But you must give Haken credit to not repeating themselves on this one.
There is one place I was going like: "Wait! Did they just rip off a passage from DT's Octavarium?" In the song 1985, at 6:58, this is pretty similar to the instrumental showcase in Octavarium at 16:58...

Bound by Gravity might surpass Somebody/Nobody for me. It's really something.

yeah that's arguably the best song on here. Definitely has the most Mountain vibes.

1985 sounds awesome at first but then it loses momentum. I don't know if I love it or hate it. Initiate is a cool track but definitely not spectacular. Red Giant is dull, Earthrise is still growing. The rest are all 5's. I don't know how to rate this album.

1985 is a straight up Images and Words clone, but it's good enough for what it is

Got a lot less cringeworthy parts than the mountain. Also a lot more straightforward and easier to digest. But man, then I listen to the opening of the Atlas Stone.... with that twinkly little piano part... makes me smile everytime.
