also sowing, not saying his falsetto on that track isn't amazing, just that I'm surprised that you were surprised given that he's shown the ability to do it before

I don't know, it's interesting about Weezer in general now. Rivers Cuomo seems like a surprisingly self-aware dude, considering his social media presence. Almost makes albums like these seem precisely calculated, like there's some kind of formula the band use to determine How poppy their next album should be or whatever.

MarsKid I'd recommend u start off with Blue Album if you're interested! Really great debut album, perfectly encapsulates what folks like about the band
Pinkerton is wonderful in a different and opposite way but that's a story for later

The last thing I expected to feel today was being blown away by a new Weezer album.

I'll definitely check it. The last album was good, don't get me wrong, but I rarely felt the need to revisit it. For me "comeback" albums are rarely ever as good as the originals, even when the artist explicitly goes back to their original sound. Often it just rings hollow to me.

It's funny because I loved that album at the time and still have it rated highly on here... but after a few weeks it was like, if I want that old Weezer sound I'd just listen to Blue and Pinkerton, which still do that sound better.
