I love the clean vocals a lot. Just a stellar album all around vocally.

These guys do transitions differently than most other bands, they kick right into something completely different at certain points and somehow it isn't jarring and still fits.

true, it's refreshing to listen to something this calm and soothing, yet so dynamic and unpredictable. there's so much layers and everything flows so smoothly, feels like you're floating on an ocean

Definitely, that part at about 5:45 on the first track where the tempo picks up out of nowhere is so cool, it almost seems out of place at first but it works so well. A lot of moments like that here.

and he mumbles. I think the vocals stop me from making it a 4.5 but the instrumentation rules. come to think of it that's why I didn't like Materia that much cause there was too much cleans

Carmelo went for the dreamy vocals ala Dreams D'Azur in this one, there's not a lot of singalong stuff like in Novembrine or Materia.

The two tracks from the single are amazing, worth checking them out.

Dreams D'Azur is a re-recording of the debut, so it's not technically part of this recent run of albums in terms of the band's musical progression.

"idk the mix on this seems overly crisp and sibilant at times :/"

i mean, that's kinda the point and it sounds lovely. not everything has to be rough around the edges

I guess, but the brightness of everything ends up getting "slushy", for lack of a better word, due to so much of the sound being focused to that higher frequency range.

Could just be my current gear screwing things up. guess momentum wireless aren't the best for a critical listen.

Can't say I've ever listened to this band, but this record is amazing. Very impressed with everything. Not the hugest fan of this genre either.

I recommended it to my friend who's crazy about black/doom metal and he said this band reminded him too much of My Dying Bride. Does there previous stuff sound similar? I told him I found this record to be a lot different than anything MDB has done.
