One public service station made a special episode about the Chernobyl catastrophe since it was 30 years ago and it featured an interview with Matt about the story behind the song.

That's pretty cool. The story is ridicuously important to history, in my opinion.

I'm so glad they chose to end the album with A Swan Song. After all the depressing tracks before, it makes it all worthwhile.

The Last Dive of David Shaw is probably the best post-rock song I've heard so far.

It's my favorite one of last year in the genre, that's for sure. Though the first one on the new Godspeed gives it a run for its money.

A Swan Song is by far the best on here for me and one of the best for the genre. It doesn't get anymore naturally uplifting than that.

I honestly wasn't too impressed with Godspeed. Listened to Lift Your Skinny Fists and didn't find it interesting. So I'm not sure where I fit in on the post-rock spectrum.

Try Talk Talk or Bark Psychosis for the best post-rock has to offer. ( ) by Sigur Ros too

Godspeed is incredible and well deserving of all the praise. And agreed about Talk Talk, Bark Psychosis and Sigur Ros.

It's certainly not for me. It had great moments, but I felt it dragged on too long.

Godspeed are indeed among the all time best post-rock, they demand more out of listeners than a lot of other post-rock I'd say.

What a phenomenal album. Really requires a lot of patience but it pays off big when A Swan Song kicks into gear.
