Sounds really un-Korn from the decription but y'know maybe that's what they need, if they nail that it could be excellent. That said it could be disastrously boring.

Korn's mainstream shit era is over so while it could be tolerable, I'm not betting anything over a 3/5

that's fair, I'm not really expecting them to be able to pull it off tbh but I've got hope for something more interesting at least

The first 4 tracks on this album go HARD and, overall, this is the most pissed-off and aggressive Korn have ever sounded.

Agree with the review that this is the first real 'step down' in quality for Korn at this stage of their career, but disagree on how much of a step down it is. They strip back their sound quite a bit for this record (particularly in relation to Untouchables) which works really well for the most part, but several songs lean a bit too much on the main riff - great if the riff is a banger, less so if it's a bit benign. That's where a couple of songs fall down a bit in my opinion, along with Play Me just generally not being good and 'Alive' stepping a bit too close to the mark in it's 'borrowing' from 'Need To' on their debut.

this was always my favorite korn album post issues. i never quite understood why people seem to dislike this album so much.

Try this Metaxu: Listen to "Life is Peachy", carefully, song by song...and after that, go straight forward with this. I think you will notice the contrast very quick...

personally i like this better than issues and untouchables combined, unlike the previous two the overall sound and vibe is consistent and more importantly jon davis limits the goofy ass falsetto voices this time around.

sure, theres some weak songs and overall you can tell they kind of half assed this, but i'd take consistently alright over "two shit tracks per standout song" thing they had going on. the lyrics suck, but i always though davis was a shit lyricist sans Blind.

i also think the production is pretty good, particularly how brittle the bass sounds. the mid sounds its been rolled off and as a result it just cuts right through the mix in a satisfying way. i think my biggest prob with the new album reqieum is that the bass isnt as prominent in the mix.

overally, pretty good album and gets a lil more shit than it deserves methinksz. also yall want a single? FUCK THAT
