Come on, Pots. Yellow and Green was a double album. I can't blame you for forgetting. None of it was very memorable.

I think the idea is to have this garage-y sort of production to give it a rough-round-the-edges sound that contrasts with the really nice, melodic guitar and vocal lines

The production on this IS weird. I streamed it from my phone via YouTube with bluetooth to my home stereo last night and it sounded awesome. This morning, I streamed it from my phone via Prime with bluetooth to my car stereo and it sounded like it was drowning in 3 inches of water. I mean, I know my car stereo is inferior, but most stuff sounds pretty normal playing through it.

Some songs scratch the unbearable bar for me... It's almost like a bunch of flies flying cross your eardrums. Sometimes it's just plain annoying. Still, some very nice songs in here, it's a shame really, it could've been so much better.

I honestly don't know how one could be. It's a great example of why you don't try to release the loudest album possible.

It's pretty good, shame the production makes it so divisive.

Same, and if it bothered you, I can only imagine how much worse the reaction would have been from the people that aren't used to less than stellar productions.
