The first three tracks are forgettable, but the rest is excellent. Sometimes I really get annoyed when songs end with a fadeout, that’s one of my issues here. But with “Don’t Turn the Light On…” a different EP begins, which in itself could be an easy 4 or even higher for me. ALL songs are excellent, but the way the in medias res chaos of “Mother Sky” settles in that hypnotic jam is clearly the peak. (By the way, I just discovered that the underlying bass groove is identical to the one in “Sea Within a Sea” by The Horrors, no new under the Sun.)
And “She Brings the Rain” is the perfect ending, I wish I was in the woods on mushrooms, in the dawn of a silvery day. But at least it REALLY feels like Spring right now…
