The Acts rely way more on theatrics than the Color Spectrum, and I can't see you being convinced by them but hey I might be wrong

that sounds not sweet

Well, there's still a whole lot of substance here but it's executed with so much dramatic flair that it could come across as way more pretentious. I love the way it compliments the narrative, but it's still just a couple of rungs up from musical theatre (which I cannot see being your bag)

i didnt like the color spectrum for any kind of narrative i just thought some of the tracks were cool inoffensive fun easy listening jams so i bet u id think this is lame as fuck

Yeah, exactly :/ Oh well, I guess Waves and some others work as great standalone pieces.

^The Line is a wonderful standalone piece. I could listen to that song all day. That probably wound up being my favorite off this album. It's so beautiful

I thought The Line was the weakest song on here tbh. Didn't have that same flare as most of the others songs did.

I guess it is...idk for me a lot of The Line's strength comes straight from the concept

It works really well as an understated piece

I figured most would think it was one of the weakest, but I liked its minimalism

It works more for the concept rather than a standalone for me. It's not a bad song, it's just that compared to the rest of the album it falls a bit flat. Same goes for 'Wait' as well.

I'm growing to like the Line more and more as a standalone, but I agree with Wait. Devastating lyrical value and great positioning just before the end, but hardly a highlight.

Act II > Act III > Act IV > The Color Spectrum > Act I > Migrant

However even though Migrant is the worst thing he's released it's still a solid 8/10. An almost 100 song discography and Casey still has yet to show himself as a mortal who can write a bad song

I more or less agree on that ranking omniscient but I somehow find myself listening to stuff off migrant more than some of the albums above it. Maybe it has something to do with the songs being better standalones.

"If I haven't like this band since Act III will I like this??"

Probably, but it's worth listening through the first three acts (or at least III) to get in the mood

Only if he's going to be disappointed in it regardless.

Waiting for this album to wow me but it never came. It's fine, but I'm not loving it like their other Act albums. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Also, didn't not see King of Swords coming. Feels so out of place on this album.

It is but at the same time you can't help but smile at it. It's just such a fun song.

Not necessarily, and I didn't mean to suggest listening through all of them in one go
