as well-produced as this is, parker's vocal performance left a lot to be desired. he stayed in his falsetto the entire time, and completely failed to show emotion whatsoever.

I haven't listened to this enough times to rate it yet, but it seems like the word "excessive" would be the best way to describe it.

"Past Live" is a great song. I really dig it. Sounds a lot like "Suicide Underground" from Air's Virgin Suicides OST album.

I've never really liked a Tame Impala as much as i'm liking this one. Some great tunes. I'm digging the laid back vibe throughout. Right now it's a 4.0 for me; let's see how well will it hold in the next weeks.

I thought their first 2 albums were very derivative and they wore their influences too heavy on their sleeves. This seems to be much more authentic and blazing a new trail with their own sound.

I think this album falls off after the first half for me. as soon as I enter the second half of this album I lose interest pretty quickly

Right around when past life hits the album loses all momentum

Yeah this loses its way after The Less I Know The Better but the last three songs are great.

I like the vocal in "Past Life" -- I think it's indicative of focusing on routine and subduing emotion after a breakup. Ultimately emotion wins out (who can resist that chorus?) and he pushes past the hesitation of revisiting the past. Still the same life after all, and why do we always have to move forward? Curious, quirky, endearing track for me.

The last minute or so of Past Life is good. The first half of this is really where the album shines. I can't stop listening, the electronic textures and tasty basslines are too damn addicting.
