Saw these guys open for Weedeater last week. The whole line up destroyed. I got Steve Austin's spit on me and a guitar string hit my face when he broke them all at the end of the set. Shit slayed so much

Update to my story above I saw them again like a half a year later and got a gun held to me when I left the venue. Always interesting with Today is the Day haha.

I did. They didn't even rob me just held a gun to me for like 10 minutes at a crowded gas station and yelled a bunch. It was weird lol. Don't think they'd planned on me being dead inside and not caring much

This review is four years old and no one has realized that Zodiac is a Melvins cover
Including myself apparently

4.0 A step in the right direction after the unremarkable Axis Of Eden and Pain Is a Warning, they weren't bad releases just lacked a bit of the visionary genius Steve is known for.But it is on display quite well in Animal Mother.Harkens back to the first wave of the bands career with crazy samples, interesting distortion effects, rapid fire grindy guitar holocaust, and just balls out misery.Hell the slow version of "Outlaw" is just as looney and grindy as the rest of the album but it's acoustic.Pure genius as usual from the deviant himself.Another statement of brilliance is the epic closer Bloodwood with it's apocalyptic elevator tune crescendo.Everything on here he touches turns to blood, sweat, and tears fueled gold!

The acoustic version of Outlaw is one of my favorite things ever. Love the heavy version too but damn that one hits different. This album is really in a league of its own imo. Love it
