I am a major major pop fan. I will be the first to admit that whatever boy band single came out back when the "boy band" war began with NSYNC and BSB and then Britney and Christina, I will admit, they were catchy as f*** and pretty damn good.
Then comes this steaming pile... Man she couldn't hold a tune if her life depended on it. I read in an earlier post that someone was saying not to rate it unless you've heard this crap in FULL... and I see many of you haven't rated it... I'm guessing that your ears-- like mine-- are not immune to $h!†. But for the few of her sangs that I did listen to (courtesy of my nieces) were way awful. I am not picking on her for her genre of music because for the most part I like pop, but Ashlee Simpson is something else... a league of her own... a league that hopefully no one else steeps to ever in their careers.
This review written by whoever or whatever was not the best review you could have wriiten for Ashlee's Debut album "Autobiography".
Oh, I'm sorry you didn't like it. Other than my opinion, what didn't you like?
You're just Hatin' I think? No, I'm not. I like this album. Obviously not as much as you though.
The album is awesome. Its a great album to listen to if your into the whole pop/rock/punk vibe. I would never in a million years see this as Punk.
Its has great beats, the vocal is also great, the guitars and drums rock!! what more can you ask for? I can ask for better songwriting, a more original sound and better lyrics. Plus the guitars and drums are sort of average. The guitar tone is pretty bland and annoying
and for a debut album it did pretty well and its sounds pretty well too. I agree, its not a bad album.
Any loyal Ashlee fan would agree with me. Its a Classic. Thats why i gave Ashlee's debut album a 5. Well, I'm not a loyal Ashlee fan but in no way is this a five.

I wonder what's better. Ripping off Franz Ferdinand and a bunch of other bands and being kind of bad, or being kind of bad in your own uniquely bad way.
Oh wait, Ashlee's old nose is bigger and worse than both of those.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
I just have to ask... all those quotes you got Jungler... are they real posts that people have put up??? "It's Classic" HA HA HA damn, who wrote that??? I know it's all a matter of opinion but classic... man, that same person that wrote that won't remember who ashlee simpson is in he/she in a good two years--much less that pile.
POP-- definitely... PUNK/ROCK-- that's no matter of opinion, just bland ignorance
I'm sorry if this sounds offensive to the ones that enjoyed this album-- that's not what I am trying to do-- but comments like these you can't pass up to just laugh at.

A lady friend of mine made me listen to a few songs from this album the other day. My opinions haven't changed at all.
/trys to a start up an actual discussion

You're obviously lying. Nobody on this site has a "lady friend". Dogs and other pets do not qualify.

Haha, I think you might be alone there dude. I have lots of lady friends, I'm assuming I'm not the only one.
EDIT: Oh, um, "La La" has really stupid vocals, not to mention being of poor quality. This Message Edited On 08.21.06

Is there a pop album you've rated above a one, MM? I like M&M's. They're delicious.
This album isn't really awful, it's just generic and uninspired. The thing that truly tarnished any reputation it ever had is the SNL thing. Word up.
|
| |
no, the thing that ruined every reputation it had was when she performed at the Orange Bowl, when USC was playing Oklahoma, after she sung, the crowd of 76,000 people were booing like crazy
|
| |
That was after the SNL thing. So no.
|
| |
ok, but the Orange Bowl was pretty funny, her getting booed and all
|
| |
Even with all of the deceit and poor performances, I still firmly believe that this is a better album than A Little More Personal (Raw).

Expertly crafted review. Recycled album.
So I was watching the teen choice Awards last night (don't judge me). There was a performance by a R&B/pop singer that was such blatant lip synching, that when the singer accepted her award she almost seemed disgusted, when her teen fans shouted praises at her from the front row.
Which leads me to the common thread: Do teeny weens care that their idols lip sync during what is supposed to be a performance?

Not really, no. The young girls are too busy living vicariously through the divas, and the guys are too busy masturbating to them.

I speak for myself, when I say I only wank to divas I respect (Non-lip syncers Lohan, Christina, Lance, ya know.)
