I just was responding to the guy talking about a song having too many riffs and I brought up Lamb of God as an example of another band besides 'Deth that has even more constant riffing but not much else but still being good

Plus, Converge is waaaayyy less musical and melodic than Lamb Of God will ever be

But in terms of nothing but riffs, you should have mentioned something like Electric Wizard

I never got into them but I should try since I've always liked Candlemass

i dont know if you've heard of this thing called "metal" but most of it is constant riffing and very rhythmic and not much melody
but what is this term "unmusical?"
how is music "unmusical?"
is there a way to determine how "musical" music is?

That was a stupid question you should've not bothered answering tbh, but since you did,
But I don't think Lamb Of God is the appropriate band to answer with...

I just meant unmusical in terms of tunefullness and melody, and how Lamb of God is really rhythmic and repetitive compared to even Megadeth, and yes, I understand that all metal gravitates toward that sound but Lamb of God takes it to the extreme and barely does anything different ever and I was just saying that that repetitive approach can still be good

dude you are just digging yourself into a deeper and deeper hole here.
so are you saying that bands need to be more "tunefull" (whatever the fuck that means) and melodic to be more "musical?" which is something that you can gauge with certain aspects of a band?
I seriously do not understand what you are trying to say. I don't know if this is you not getting your point across properly or if I'm a fuckin retard but I don't get it.

Lamb of God don't take anything to the extreme let me tell you that.
they play groove/thrash metal. they don't change their sound much because that's the genre they play in. same with Black Sabbath. same with Exodus. same with a million billion bands that play a genre and don't experiment with their sound.

Okay in the grand scheme of all music Lamb of God almost never uses very common musical qualities like being melodious or tuneful. Most metal doesn't either, but Lamb of God are really stripped down and repetitive, but at this point I've completely forgotten whatever I was trying to say originally so whatever I'm done talking about Lamb of God and whatever else I was saying

WHAT IS "TUNEFUL" WHAT DOES IT MEAN LOL

lamb of god is more melodic than you think, they just disguise it under HVRD RIFFZ BR0
pretty much what made them so popular in the first place. their riffs can be mad catchy
