it's funny I see it an opposite way. he's taken a step back from when he first joined the band. I find it helps emphasize certain sections with more punch. instead of just wilding throwing out as much shit as he can

saw them recently and he goes fucking crazy live though. dude is an absolute beast

which is the same thing that makes listening to Hella sort of difficult sometimes. although I love the crazy drumming, it gets a little too many mucho after a while. props to Zach Hill though.
