I'm liking this more than I thought I would. The one thing about MMF that I've said for a long time, I think going to a different producer and being forced to record with actual live sound instead of digital would make these albums sound better. The drums and guitars don't sound good, the drums especially. And the guitars are always too quiet in the mix and only flare up here and there. The lyrics are definitely more obvious now than they used to be, but go back and listen to the stuff on Sleepwalking, the worldview of Matty hasn't actually changed, it just used to be more disguised for lack of a better word. I'm not sure where I'll end up rating this, but I do think this is better than Challenger. I would love to see them go back to a more southern sound and ditch the generic stuff. I saw they were playing "1692" live on their setlist on this last tour. I take that as a positive considering they haven't played anything off of that album or the original EP in like 4 years. Oh well. I agree with the reviewer, overall, if you like the band in general, there's plenty on this album that you'll probably like but in the end wish that they would do more to differentiate themselves sonically. Ok, I'm done.

Basically the review summed up in a sentence. Cheers.

Definitely better than Challenger, but that's not saying much. Still boring as hell.

@KenboSlice Agreed, but they wanted more money. That's what they got.
